The hottest months in New South Wales are December, January and February. December sees the warm summer temperatures however experiences less humidity and rainfall than January and February. The coldest time of the year is between June and August, with cool temperatures and little rainfall. The coastal areas are cooler than the inland areas to the West, as they benefit from a maritime climate. The most moderate temperatures of the year occur in autumn and spring – March and April, and September and October. Ski season occurs between late June and August, with the Snowy Mountains experiencing snowfall during this time.
